best set up for capture of composite video

I am presenty investigating recording composite video from a NTSC CCD camera. I have considered both DV recorder as well as using a capture card (ATI all in wonder 9600 xt) in a high end computer set up with a raid 0 SATA. Is there a difference in the recording quality between both above mentioned methods? I don't feel 1 is better then the other but I would like some input. I am looking for the ultimate configuration for recording video via coax approximately 300 m in length, which will be converted to a DVD. Any comments are appreciated.

Best way to handle this would be any flavor of the Canopus ADVC line, more specifically an ACEDVio or ADVC1394. This would be a much better solution than an "All-In-Wonder" video card. There's a quality difference there, for sure.

RAID would be completely unnecessary.
