G5 configuration - critque
on Apr 12, 2005 at 5:04:43 am

Am ordering a G5. This is within my budget (to the dime).

• Dual 2.5GHz PowerPC G5
• 2GB DDR400 SDRAM (PC3200) - 4x512
• 160GB Serial ATA - 7200rpm
• ATI Radeon 9600 XT w/128MB DDR SDRAM
• Apple Cinema Display (20" flat panel)
• 8x SuperDrive (DVD-R/CD-RW)
• Apple Keyboard & Apple Mouse - U.S. English
• Mac OS X - U.S. English

I have another monitor I'll be hooking up with it, too, and am getting a 500GB G-RAID for vid storage. My main concern is the graphics card - 128MB is good but not fantastic. Seeing as this is the extreme limit of my budget, though, should I stick with this config or should I go for the Radeon 256 (or NVIDIA GeForce 6800) and drop something else? (Going for the Dual 2.0GHz is an option. I will not sacrifice the monitor, though, it is too gorgeous.)

Any and all help is appreciated.
