Hi, here's the plan for my Adobe NLE, I'd love you to take it to pieces for me. Cheers:

AthlonMP2800+ Barton Socket A
AthlonMP2800+ Barton Socket A

2gb RAM Dual channeled (Help! Geil? Kingston? Crucial?)

(Please help with mobo! MSI? ASUS?)

System disk: 200gb SATA 7,200rpm
Scratch/Render: WDRaptor74
Media/Storage: 300gb SATA 7,200rpm

Audigy 2 (the external one "Platinum?")

Matrox RT.X100

GeForce6800 (I need dual monitors + tv out, so what... is this good?)

I just want the most efficient dual-monitor+tv video editing and DVD production for my money. Where do those pennies go? Thankyou so much, I know variations of this question are EVERYWHERE.

The ASUS A7M266-D is approved by matrox. Here is the link to the Matrox site http://www.matrox.com/video/support/rtx100xtremepro/rec/mb/asus_a7m266_d.cf...

Good luck - follow the guidelines Matrox gives you. Make sure you have adequate cooling and power supply.

Thanks Gary, is that mobo AGPx8 and do you think it will work well with the other components, like the RAM? Which RAM do you think would go best with this system? I put a lot of thought into the hard drive setup, and think I've cracked it. What your view on it?

I just researched that mobo, it appears to support only MP2000+ procs? is it even SATA?
Thanks
