Is my System drive set up correctly ???
by

I am using the P5AD2-E Premium, and I have the System Drive
on the SATA1 connector, and the two raid-striped data drives on
SATA_RAID1 and SATA_RAID2.

However, I notice in the BIOS that the System drive "appears" as
a "third IDE drive", and "Configure SATA as" is set to "Standard IDE".

This makes things *appear* as though the the full speed benefits of SATA
operation might not be in effect (e.g. it might be emulating a slower IDE device).

If I change "Configure SATA as" to "AHCI", then the System drive will not
boot and Window Installation will not detect it.

Am I doing something wrong? Or is this drive operating at full speed in
SATA mode as it should? Is there a different configuration that would
get the most out of the drive?

Thanks in advance for any insight you can share with me.

/Mark

ps The data drives seem to be just fine. Everything else is so-far-so-good.
