Hello everybody. I'm new to this forum so I'll apologize in advance if I don't ask this question correctly.
I'm looking to set-up my computer for video capture, editing and exporting to videoCD & DVD (Mpeg1 & Mpeg2). I have a DELL Dimension 8200, Pent 4, 1.8GHZ processor, with 200GB hard drive (180GB free) & about 1GB of RAM. I'd like something that is relatively "user friendly" that will allow me to capture analog, SVS & miniDV, simple editing with some titles, and output to MPEG1 for PowerPoint & CD video and MPEG2 for DVD's and such. I only work with video occassionally and have some experience with Premiere Pro, but didn't particularly like Premiere. I was thinking about Pinnacle, Vegas and Canopus (all have been recommended to me). I work in an educational envirnoment, with a lot of variety of request to capture, edit and output video to some other media.
I would be grateful for any suggestions about what software and hardware I would need to get me going. Thanks for any help.
