PC for videoediting
on Jan 30, 2005 at 2:13:15 pm

Hi, I'm planning to build PC for video editing and postproduction(Adobe premiere, AFX,...), and I was thinking to use following components- AMD athlon 64, socket 939, motherboard either MSI MB Sc 939MS-K8N Neo2 Platinum (AGP),
or MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (PCI express). Raid 2x
Hitachi 3.5" 7K250 250 GB, SATA, 8MB, 7200 RPM; DIMM DDR 1024MB,
PC3200(400MHz), CL3, Kingston(KIT 2x512). With the graphics card it's a big question, either Matrox
Parhelia, or nVidia 6600GT 128MB. If someone could give me any advice, experience, what should work and what is bad idea and recommend me something, I'll apreciate it. thanks. havran ;-)

I recently bought a Parhelia card,
and it did not work well with ABIT Ai7
motherboard. I have read quite a lot
of reports about problems with the Parhelia.
So keep that in mind, is my suggestion.

It may be that I had bad luck when I
set up my computer. Anyway, everything
works okay now that I use a biostar
motherboard (in a Barebone IDEQ 200s).
It's great to have 2 monitors + TV out!!!
