Just wondering how important it is to use a NTSC monitor [as opposed to a plain ol tv] for previewing. What are the major benefits [besides being able to calibrate it for more accurate color representation - not that that's NOT a great benefit]? Do you think it's worth the extra cost or am I ok using my 19 inch RCA?

Any suggestions for a good NTSC monitor under 500.00?

Thanks.

I use a 19" TV as well - I find that it's actually not a bad idea because you get a more accurate idea of where the "safe" zones are on a standard television. If you're giving DVD's to a number of different people, chances are they all have a different size TV. I've found differences even between two 19" TVs I have...

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to use both... :)
