I have read one time somewhere on your web site. You guys said you guys are also videographer too. It means that you guys do know about camcorder and may be about its specification too. Having said it, here is my question, I hope someone woulds help me to find the answer.
I just bought the Sony DSR-250 a professional camcorder in the low end range price. My question is: is this camcorder a MONO recording camcorder? Because I see the mic clearly said: ECM-NV1 monoral microphone. How can I record with STEREO sound? Right now it has sound on both channels, but they are mono.
I see you guys also sells microphone from Azden too.
Thanks for your help.
The DSR-250 does not record stereo audio (in the traditional sense). It does however have two balanced mic channel inputs. Typically, for example, in an ENG application, one might capture interview audio on one channel, then go back later and dub-in narrative/commentary on the remaining channel later. In another simple example, you could set up two mics (one for live guitar, the other for live bass). In other words, the DSR-250 does not have a stereo mic input.
Sorry I did not check this mail until now (Dec 7th, 04) because I did get yours through my email). Thanks anyway. I have found a little inconvenient not to be able recording in "REAL" stereo. I am thinking of buying a second shotgun microphone and use on this camcorder, but the weird look hesitates me so far.
I also wonder, are all those Professional camcorders MONO like this model?
