Mini DV to DVD
on Nov 17, 2004 at 3:48:16 pm

My son is making a video for a scholarship application. The mini DV tape that he made runs in a different time than the sound when he uploaded it to his computer to edit. He is making a video editing together clips from different videos, then he'll make a dvd, then he will copy the dvd to vhs because the application will not allow dvd's. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

A better procedure would be to import the DV, edit it, output the edited video back to DV tape instead of making a DVD, and then connect your camcorder to the vhs recorder for coping.

Do you mean that the audio and video are not synchronized? If so, please describe your computer specifications and perhaps someone can identify the problem for you.

What software are you using to capture and edit? Here's an excellent little piece of software for DV transfer to the computer called WinDV. http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=285#comments
