DVD success priority
on Oct 4, 2004 at 5:17:17 pm

Hello,

Problem, I film the kids and family events, edit in pinnacle V8. and burn on DVD with my sony VAIO desktop. Normaly DVD plays first time perfect, but not always. Maybe plays on a friends DVD player but not always. Maybe plays all the way through without a clitch, but not always. Sometimes stops or skips forward or something crazy. Maybe my DVD player has problems. I will find out soon when I buy a new one. Anyway, does anyone have a feel for priority of importance for creating bullet proof DVD's that will play for the family 15 years from now?????

DVD burner??
Media?
software running in the back ground?
DVD player?
editing software?
Burning software?

Something is throwing me in the ditch.. Why would a DVD that played perfect 6 months ago have problems now???

Can anyone help me!!

Without knowing your system specs and the condition of the Disc or the quality of the disc, I will throw out my own experience.

Hardware followed closely by software with media right behind. Get the right three and they just always work.

I hope this helps. Good Luck getting it up and running.
