CPU temperature
by

I had built my first system recently. Normally the CPU temperature is at 47-50C (detected by Asus utility). I remembered there is an attention from Intel in my P4 package says “Intel recommends that you use a chassis with an internal ambient temperature at or below 38C to ensure this Intel processor will operate within thermal specifications.” Since the temperature is always higher than the thermal standard of Intel, will my system become unstable? Should I try to change something to improve my system? Could anyone give me your advice?

Thanks in advance for your help.

My system:
OS: Win 2K SP4
Motherboard: P4P800-SE
CPU: Intel P4 2.8E GHz, HT, 800MHz FSB, 1Mb L2 Cache
Mem: 2x512Mb Kingston DDR PC-3200
Video Card: ATI All in-Wonder Radeon
System Drive: WD 36Gb 10000rpm
Video Drive: WD 200Gb, 7200rpm
DVD drive: Benq DW800 DVD+RW
Sound card :M-Audio Audiophile 2496
Case: Antec SX1040BII (400 W)
Software: Vegas 4.

CPU temperature and chasis temperature are different things.

Does the chasis temperature mean MB temperature? There is also an item called MB temperature in Asus utility.

The motherboard temperature can be substituted for the chasis temperature in your system.
