Capture VGA to disk?
on Apr 14, 2004 at 8:15:23 pm

I'm thinking about creating a series of training DVD's for computer software. I'd like to keep the quality as high as possible but the software (3D) is pretty heavy on system processing power so I think one of the realtime screen recording systems i.e. Camtasia may not be the best idea.

So plan B is to take the VGA output from my PC and capture that to disk on a second PC. My graphic card has VGA and Digital out (For LCD) and I can output the same display to both. Can anyone recommend a system that could do this?

Thanks

Chris Thomas

check out camtasia http://www.techsmith.com/products/studio/features.asp

Myron Achtman used it to make his Liquid Edition tutorials. Fantasic quality!

I would really like to have something like this also. I need to do recording at the best quality without installing software on the machine. I have been looking for a while, but haven't found anything to do VGA to RGB capture. I have contacted some Electrical Engineering Professors by email tonight to see if I can get any guidance on this.

Let me know if you find anything. Thanks!
