I've been to several forums on editing at different sites and
many people use the Asus p4p or p4c boards BUT when I go to review
sites it appears quite a few people find the Intel boards, the
865 Perl in particular more stable.
On at least one review board I've read there is an entire
thread on instability and overclocking issues on the Asus boards
that occur, Even when overclocking is not set in the bios!??
I'm on a ridiculously tight budget, almost laughable, and can't
afford an unstable board. I upgrade and buy in bits and pieces
as I find great Sales, Rebates, or used deals on video cards and so
My gut feeling is that the 865 PERLL is still the best buy for
someone in my financial position, but I know you SELL the Asus
so someone here might disagree.
Are there any features on the ASUS that aid rendering or editing
that blow the 865 Perll board away?
Anybody know any more particulars about conlfict issues or
stability with the Asus boards?
