I'm getting started!

Hi folks.
Here's what I'm planning on doing-
1. The occassional wedding here & there...
2. Recital videos
3. Other odd projects as needed.

My requirements are simple. Obviously it has to look good and sound good once edited. Awesome effects are always a plus too. I want to be able to burn it all to a DVD when finished so DVD authoring is also a requirement. For some reason, Adobe has caught my eye. I am yet to hear anything bad about it.

So... what to do?

Following the videoguys DIY seems like the route to go. I can afford a 1,000 bucks and even more to get a screaming machine. I know the monitors, burners, etc. are extra but that's no big deal.

Or should I just get a be-all-end-all machine from Dell?

Or does an Adobe turnkey system from bhphotovideo.com (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details... seem a like a better route?

Again, the requirements are simple. But maybe I left out that I don't a system that crashes a lot or eats up 22.5 hours of my day. If you use the Adobe system, what's your PC running and what would you recommend?

Thank you in advance.
