Canon optura not recognized by XP
on Feb 15, 2004 at 12:32:12 am

Guys, PLEASE can someone help me??

I have the original Canon Optura from 1997. Its a great DV cam, no problems.

However, i CANNOT get Windows XP to recognize it. Nothing in my computer or Device Manager. Ii'm told by folks that it needs a special driver, but that driver is nowhere to be found on Canons Web site.

Is anyone out there using the original Optura with XP??

Please help!!!!!!

thanks.

PS......the Firewire port is ok because it WILL d/l still pics to XO. Xp just doesnt see the cam when its in the VCR position.

ANY help is welcomed. Thank you.

Mikey

I've got an old Optura. I can use it with XP, no problem. It just doesn't come up as Optura in the source dialogue but it works just fine. I've used it with the DV500 card and a IEEE1394 card with no problems. Never heard about this special driver.
