VHS copyright

I want to transfer a footlocker full of VHS tapes to DVD for personal use. Does anyone know a way around the copyright inhibit signal imbedded on the tapes?

My method of transfer was to copy tapes to DV camcorder and then export that to PC/DVD.

Thanks,

Sure...spend 50$ at J&R Music World and get a SIMCO Macrovision Remover. Use it in between the playback VCR and your camcorder. Thats all you need to do.

Some capture cards include hardware that will automatically sync up to the signal, effectively removing the macrovision encoding. Both my Matrox RT2000 and RT.X100 will.
