I have the software for editing the video and making it into a dvd but I don't think I have the right stuff to hook up the vcr to my computer. My computer is a p4 2.82ghz 512mb of ram I have 6usb ports 1 firewire and a svideo port my video card is a nvidia geforce fx what do I need to do this and what is the least expensive way to do it? Thanks for you're help.

The least expensive way is to use a digital camcorder to digitize the analog video and feed it to your computer via the firewire port. Of course, that assumes that your video editing software will capture the video via the firewire port.

Does your video card have S-Video in or just out?

The Pinnacle Studio is a good solution on the low end, you can read about it at http://www.videoguys.com/studio.htm
