Hi, I just got my new Dell that's got 2x250gig sata raid 0 and a 120gig ide drive. It came set up with the 500gig sata raids as the primary drive (c:) with windows installed on it. The 120gig is d: .
Now, I want to have the 120gig as my c:, to partition into a 40gig and an 80 gig (for windows and apps), and to have the 500gig satas for my video footage. I didn't think it would be much of a problem but when I called dell support the lady (who had to keep asking someone else) told me that it was impossible to have the raid setup as the secondary drive. She said I could split the raid and have 120 on c: 250 on d: and 250 on e:.
Is she right? or is it possible to change them?
What are my other options? Can I make d: as the boot drive? or can I partition 40gigs off the 500gig raid for windows?
Thanks for your help!
