I have minimal experience with video. Recently, I've been spending alot of time capturing DV and encoding it with WME 9 for multiple bit rate streaming. I have set up a second computer to capture and encode. We recently tried to streamline this computer for video. It previously had Windows 2000, one 80GB hard drive and a P4 2.4 GHZ processor and all my encoding worked really well...BUT... we added a Raid 300GB Hard drive, 1GB of memory, it still has the 2.4 GHZ P4, and we changed the OS to XP and now I still can capture but when I try to encode with WME 9 for multiple bit rates, the video is really choppy and jerky. I'm using that same WME session settings as before (I even tried the defaults). I'm capturing video from a DV camera via firewire. The other computer I'm using is slower than this one and it's doing fine. Does anyone have any insight they could contribute? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
