Brett had mention in his video online handbook that hyperthreading was a must to take full advantage of the power of some editing programs. One thing he mention is that all programs running will have to support hyperthreading. Now, does he mean every window program and software have to support this? I don't think every single window program on our computer supports this. How do we know if it does. Does photoshop support this?
He also mention if one non-hyperthreading aware program is running then this feature will not work. I just need more clarification on this. Or does the these non-hyperthreading programs have to be running in order to spoil the hyperthreading effect of hyperthreading programs?? Thanks.
Please keep in mind that having a program installed on the computer is not the same as having it "running".
So what we are telling you is not to launch any other programs that are not hyperthreaded while editing. Actually - we don't want any non-editing stuff running at all. But make sure any plug-ins or utilities you need for editing are hyperthreaded as well.
Hope that clarifies things a bit.
