DVD to VHS...How?
on Jan 9, 2004 at 11:28:38 pm

I produce my own videos (off-road motorsport) and plan to copy my existing master tapes to master DVD's, then use these to produce copies of either DVD or VHS tapes for sale.

I'm only using Windows Video Maker (bundled with XP Media Centre) and have no other s/ware at present.

How do I copy DVD to VHS? Do I need additional s/ware?

Any ideas greatly appreciated, but please keep it simple folks...because I am!

Thanks

Mike

PS This is only a hobby so 'big bucks' solutions are a no-no!

DVD's you author do not contain copy protection, so you can connect the output of a dvd player directly to a vcr.

Commercial DVD's typically have macrovision encoding, which messes up the sync circuits of a vcr, causing the video's brightness to change constantly. This prevents dubbing from these dvd's to tape.
