where to put win2K swap file....?
on Oct 22, 2003 at 7:42:02 am

my editing system has a 20GB system disk with the OS (win2K), and 80GB AV disk. i have 768MB ram, and a swap file set to 1GB/1.5GB max.

win2K Help says to improve performance its best to put the swap file on a separate disk from the OS, but i've also heard its bad to put the swap file on the AV disk... argh conflicting reports.... for an editing system where should the swap file go.....?

cheers,

paul

Leave your windows swap file on your system drive. The whole point of having a dedicated A/V drive is to prevent Windows writing to the swap file from interrupting the A/V capture.
