still image capture speeds
on Jul 8, 2003 at 9:23:09 pm

I would like some info on the speed of the capture on some prosumer lvl cards, the standard seems to be 1/16th or so, I'm looking for a faster system to reduce out of focus or fuzzy shots due to motion. I use a intra oral macro camera system with a very limited focal depth and any type of motion does cause degredation in my images.
Also the system must function through WindowsXP WDM drivers as I use a third party imaging package relative to my industry.

Any assistance is great as I've noticed most reviews dont include the capture chipset speeds,

NTSC video is 30 fps fields composed of two interlaced fields. The best you can do is 1/30th second for a single frame.

There are special purpose video cameras that can operate at higher frame rates, but they aren't cheap.
