Help! Analog Video Capture card
on Apr 9, 2003 at 10:06:43 pm

HI!

I transfer video from analog VHS/SVHS/Hi8/8MM/ cassettes to VCDS,
thinking of Upgrading to DVD'S and Digital8 and MiniDv now.
I am thinking Of buying the ADS PYRO Digital Video 1394DV Card.
using It with premeire 6.5 and upgrading in the future to
Avid Xpress DV 3.5.

Now I need to Know the following.
1.If I Pair it with a Digital8 camcorder with pass through,will I be
able to capture from Analog source(using RCA/s-video input)?
2.will the Quality of the video be degraded?
3.I need to edit the captured video at 720 x 576 avi. and then encode it with tmpgnec .
Or should I Just Buy a dv/analog capture card?(budget $300).

Please recommend a
1.Digital8 camcorder with pass through,firewire in/out and
rca,s-video in/out.
2.minidv playback device with firewire out
3.A DVD writer compatible with all formats
Please Help
