Datavideo AV/DV converters DAC 100-DAC-2

What is the major difference between the two? I have a Hi 8mm camera, and svhs. Does either of these devices store video information?

I am not sure what it does? Is the image converted to digital and is the resolution and pixels enhanced to over 500 lines?

Here is what I want to do:

I want to use analog and digital sources and make it come out on master tape with the same pixalation. Do either of these two do that job and any other opinions or examples would be great.

The DAC100 and DAC2 are Analog to DV Media Converters. This means you can take your analog camcorder > connect it to the DAC100 via S-Video or Composite video cables > and connect the DAC100 via FireWire to your DV deck or computer. The DAC2 does the same but will also let you connect Component YUV (for betacam) to FireWire.
