Burning downloaded dvds
on Feb 13, 2003 at 12:03:19 am

I have a new, somewhat top of the line dell. It has a 4x dvd burner. I would like to know how I can burn divx files (from Kazaa) onto a palyable disc for a standard dvd player. The average size of my downloaded movies is about 600-700 megabytes. Any information would be helpful, it seems as if I've tried a hundered different programs. Thanks.

as far as i know, there isn't a dvd player out there that plays the divx format. if there is, they're very rare.

Hi there
You will need to convert the Divx into MPEG 2 and bring it into DVD autoring software such as DVDit, or for a simpler method you can convert it to mpeg to and then burn it to DVD using Nero 5.
Good luck!
