Today I tried to capture video from my Sony IP5 to my Compaq Presario (512meg of ram, a 120gig wd 7200rpm enhanced hd, a 900mhz AMD Athlon processor, 200mhz fsb, and a low end video card, running WinXP home edition, using Pinnacle Studio 8).
I was watching the camcorder's screen during the download and the video jittered quite a bit during the capture. I stopped it, and watched what was captured and sure enough it was very jittery. While I've read that jittery video during playback is usually do to the hd's inability to sustain the proper throughput, is this also the reason for the problem during capture? If not, what is it? I just started reading some of the optimization tricks, so I'm going to try to tweak the settings tonight, in case there is something there that might help.
This is my second day on this site, and I can't believe how much I've learned.
