Are you trying to capture from a VCR or a camera? If you are using a camera, does it have Firewire?

The S-video cable does not carry audio. Audio must be captured through separate audio inputs. My RT.X100 has separate input jacks for S-video, composite video, L-audio, and R-audio, plus the separate firewire. When I'm capturing analog, I have to plug in the video, either composite or S, and both audio inputs. In Premiere, I then have to configure the capture to select the correct audio port.
