SoundBlaster Audigy c/w firewire, Pros, Cons?
on Nov 21, 2002 at 12:14:14 am

Continueing to work on designing my new system...
I noticed the Audigy card has included a firewire port. It seems to me this should save me a PCI slot and perhaps an IRQ. But, for every good point there is always a bad one weighing against it. What (if any)drawbacks are there to using this card in an editing system?

I have an Audigy card in my editing PC but I am using Pinnacle's DV500Plus card/software.
I just put together a second system for doing graphics but am considering loading Vegas Video 3.0 on it and adding firewire card. I also want to add a Audigy card to this second machine and was wondering the same thing concerning it's firewire port.
am watching for replies with you...

What ever card you use for capturing video, Be sure to place it as far away from the AGP Card as possible. Don't know for sure as to why but Canopus recommends it as a top priority.
