My son is making movies with Lego Studios which uses a camera with USB connection. Sadly, the software doesn't run on Windows XP so I need to find an alternative editing system for our new computer. Pinnacle 8 DV seems to be the best, but wondered if we can still use the Lego Studios camera, which shoots both video & stop-motion. We do have a Sony Digital8 Handycam (DCR-TRV210).. does it do stop motion REALLY close-up? (ie shooting lego figures)
Hope someone can help before I spend my weak Canadian dollars on this software!
I don't think the Lego USB hardware will work. Your best bet is using the Studio 8 DV with the FireWire connection from your Sony Digital 8. You can use that camera to store a still image to the videotape or you can just shot your images as moving video and then use the Studio 8 software to create a high-quality still from your video footage.
