So many drives. Are they needed?
on Sep 27, 2002 at 7:45:20 pm

Hello,

I have read that you should place your audio on a drive separate from your video drive. Are there advantages to this set up or can I place my audio *and* video files onto a RAID 0 setup without any real performance problems?

Do I really need a spearate (small) hard drive for the swap file? Can the system drive ("C-drive") be used to hole the swap file? Should each drive have a swap file?

Thanks!

Do audio and video on the same (RAID-0) drive(s). It is fine.
ALWAYS go to edit, preference.... and make sure scratch disk is your RAID drive and not C.
