JUST PURCHACED A SONY CAMCORDER TRV340. TRYING TO DOWN LOAD TO COMPUTER WITH CD PROGRAM FURNISHED THROUGH IMAGE STATION; WHEN THE TAPE GETS TO ABOUT 18 MINUTES THE PROGRAM STOPS RECIEVING AND SAYS DATA EXCEEDS HDD. CONCIDERING I HAVE ALMOST 80 GB OF FREE SPACE ON MY COMPUTER THIS MAKES NO SENCE. ANY ONE TELL ME HOW I CAN DOWNLOAD CAMCORDER FILM TO EDIT IT. MAYBE ANOTHER PROGRAM? MY COMPUTER IS A DELL DIMENSION 8200 WITH WINDOWS XP.

You're hitting the 2 gig limit (this is normal). What software are you using again?

Check your drive format and make sure it's not FAT32. If it is, you need to change it to NTFS, which can be done by:
1. Click Start and Run.
2. Enter CMD and click OK. (This will open a command prompt window.}
3. In the command window, enter CONVERT /? and the Return key. (This will show you the syntax for the command.)
4. If you wanted to convert drive E, you would enter:
CONVERT E: /FS:NTFS

Under NTFS, the filesize limit is the physical size of the drive, although some programs will still limit the filesizes, because they assume they're writing to a FAT formatted drive. Then you have to upgrade or use other software.
