Controller Card question
on Aug 13, 2002 at 1:32:30 pm

I have a system with a PCI Ultra 66 controller card for my HD, and am running windows 98SE. Is this a no-go from the start? If so, is there a solution short of getting a new system? Thanks for any help.

Just make sure you have a second dedicated 7200 RPM hardrive hooked up to the PCI Ultra 66 controller card & you should be able to capture video without dropping frames....Mitch

Just make sure you put the video drive on IDE channel 2. You want Win98SE to be able to talk to the boot drive independent of the video streaming to your dedicated video drive on the secondary channel.

You'll probably also want to upgrade to an OS that can handle large files without a 2 GB limit, like Win2k or WinXP using NTFS formatting.
