Anyone familiar with this hard drive?I know its 7200 rpm,it is also 40gb and i have it on my home computer.I am looking for a drive to run my video editing system,is this sufficient?

Also,i noticed western digital now has or has had a firewire drive optimized for video and audio applications.60,80,and 120gb drives...anyone familiar...anyone?

You'll find 40 GB is a little small. You need 13 GB per hour of DV plus whatever space is required for rendering temporary files. The largest project I've edited used 52 GB of disk space. I'd buy at least an 80 GB 7200 rpm drive.

I just bought the 80GB "Special Edition" drive. There is a review on it (very indepth) at

http://www.storagereview.com/articles/200205/20020529WD800JB_1.html

This model has an 8MB Cache. Suppose to rival SCSI performance.

A review of the 120 GB is at
