How will this work? Need Advice!!!
on Jul 23, 2002 at 12:44:12 am

Hi,
I have a Dell Demension XPST700R P3 700 with an available pci slot. I'm interested in the DV500 DVD capture card to capture Hi-8 video from a Sony VX-3 Camcorder (good quality video).
I'm looking at an 80 gig HD to add to the system for the video.
Question is ... will I be able to create decent quality video on VHS? Decent enough to create a 10 minute Promotional Video for our business?
To give you an idea of the quality from the Hi-8 machine...
The video tapes that we create by just duping the tape from Hi-8 to 6 VCRs and adding a sound track is actually very good (straight Hi-8 deck to a back of 6 VCRs with just a splitter (we do add titles) - no editing of the video at all. We actually sell a huge amount of the tapes...
Okay - back to the question ... What do you think about the promotional tape?
Thanks,
Steve

Hi Mitch,
Now you've got me concerned about the system that I have. I can not afford a new system at this time.
Can you give some details about compatability issues?
Come to think of it - maybe I'll give you a call tomorrow - but if you see this tonight, details would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Steve
