dvc100 or all in wonder 9800?

My boss is building a NLE for home, and since I had one, he asked me for some advice. right now he needs analog in and out.

i suggested getting a normal video card, a firewire card, and the canopus dvc100. (this will cost about $400)

he went to a computer store and they told him to get the radeon all inwonder 9800. (about $200)

does the 9800 do both analog in AND out, or just in?

in your opinion which is the better route?

Tell your boss that the AIW card is designed to capture video as mpeg and that (unless it has improved a lot over the last few years) it tends to drop frames and lose audio-video sync during capture.

I'm using the ATI 8500 Pro and it does both in and out to TV or VCR. Have been using it for a month nowand would not trade it for anything at this point. Used Dazzle DVC USB and had nothing but heartaches. I burn DVDs as a business for folks and all I capture from is VHS. 8500 does a great job.
