Matrox RTX100 & Windows XP
on May 29, 2003 at 6:53:35 pm

I just ordered a turnkey video system from Polywell computers - a dual Athlon system using the Matrox RTX100 and the Parhelia graphics card. The engineer says he can't get the RTX100 to run reliably under XP and suggests installing Win2K instead. Are others having problems with the RTX100 and XP? Is Win2K a viable option or should I stick with XP and find another computer manufacturer? Advice welcome.

XP is the only option with a dual Athlon system with an X100. It won't work with W2K. I'm running a dual Athlon with a G550, and it works fine.

I did originally have stability problems due to my soundcard. The original Audigy drivers made it unstable. Updated drivers fixed the stability problems.

If you load the latest audio and video drivers, it should work.
