I am planning on getting a dvd burner to burn my edited movies.
What I need is a burner that burns a DVD that is playable by MOST dvd players out there.
I don't care much about the speed the dvdrw burns.
The DVD burner has the least impact on playability. What counts is encoding, authoring, and media.
I've found that some players work better with constant bitrate (CBR) encoding of the video.
You need an authoring program and/or burning application that lays out the files in the locations that DVD players assume they'll be located. If they aren't, the DVD will play on your computer, but not on most DVD players.
DVD-R media is compatible with a few more players than DVD+R, although the quality of the media usually has a bigger impact. Avoid cheap media.
