backing up my vhs collection
on Apr 10, 2003 at 3:16:27 am

I'm trying back up my VHS movies on to DVD (for personal use). Some of the movies have copyright on them and I was wondering if the Sima Copymaster will help? Also, some of the warn out VHS, the quality isn't coming out good on DVD, can it help with this too? Most of my movies are out of print even on VHS so I can't buy them at the store, main reason why I want to back up on DVD.

Hi,
the device should work but this is something I never bother to try. First of all, it against copyright :) that's why they put protection. Secondly, if you can copy those, the quality is not accepted. Thirdly, it's not important. What is it ? just an old movie, not my wedding, not my childhood time, not my family memories ... :) it's just a movie made by some one, not even me :)
I rathere watch it once, and wait for a new better quality, better contents... to watch :) Sorry, I don't mean to hurt your feeling but It's doesn't make sense to copy some old hollywood movie on dvd :)
NG.
