Missing Audio on DVD
on Jan 25, 2003 at 7:23:30 pm

After many trials & errors, I finally burnt my first DVD (w/ motion menu, chapter selection, gosh it wasn't simple) using Pinnacle Impression DVD Pro.

The DVD (it's a DVD-R) works well on my PC. I tried it on my "living-room" DVD reader. The image is good, but I get no sound at all.

Since my purchased DVD's are either Dolby Surround or (most of them) Dolby Digital 5.1, my set-up is so that both video & audio go from the DVD player to the Amplifier through an optical line.

Is it possible that my home-burnt DVD-R cannot use the same optical line to transmit the audio? DOes anyone know the DVD standard enough to answer that?

Sorry I was a bit too quick when posting my question. If you know the answer, you can reply to the richer Q&A track under:

thompak "Pioneer A05 sound problem solved!"

Thanks!
