I download DVD rips of movies off of KaZaA and would like to write as many as possible to dvd and be able to play them in a dvd player. if i cant add several movies, is there any way that I can burn it to CD-R so that it can be read in the DVD player? They are usually .avi files and 600 megs, more or less.

Hi,
yes, you can burn your movies to CD-R and watch it with your DVD player.
First you have to encode it to mpeg format. (vcd or svcd), then use nero, or other burning app to create VCD or SVCD.
http://www.vcdhelp.com helps you from a to z.
take care.

Hi,
you can use the calcultor form vcdhelp to set the bitrate, so you can make the length of you movie fit in CD.
Generally, longer movie , less quality.
For SVCD, you can put about 40 to 50 min each CD-R.

Yes, the standard VCD format fits about 70 minutes onto a 650 MB CD-RW. Most DVD players prefer CD-RW media for VCD's, but there's no guarantees what will work on any given player. Most DVD players won't play an SVCD. They'll only work on a PC.
