I have a little under 2 hours of video on two files and used TMPGEnc to encode it to mpeg-2 at an average of 4400kpbs. The two files come out to a total of 3.70GB. I try to burn a DVD using DVDit, with a very minimal menu, onto a Verbatim DVD-RW 4.7GB disk and when it gets to the burn stage it tells me that it is too big for the Media. Is there a way to determine the approximate bit rate for the length of movie that will fit on the disk?
I was starting with a larger bit rate and DVDit would tell me right away that it was too large, and now that I have it down to this size it does not tell me until it is ready to burn. Very frustrating.
you can press "update" buton to see if the file is too big for the disk, before you finish the project.
any way I can usually put a 4.0 gig into a 4.7gig blank dvd(not using dvdit!), and play very well in stand alone player.
make sure you don't make double link, so the size of project getting double :)
