DVD BURNING

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO BURN MY HOME VIDEO TO A CD WITH 700MB. I GET A MESSAGE THAT SAYS "NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON TARGET DRIVE." THE VIDEO ITSELF IS ONLY 37 MINUTES! AFTER I CAPTURE (MPEG), AND RENDER IT ENDS UP BEING 1500 MB! DO I HAVE TO SPLIT SUCH A SHORT MOVIE INTO THREE PARTS IN ORDER TO GET IT ON A CD?
I HAVE A 60 GB HARD DRIVE WITH 18 G FREE. A SONY CRX160E CD-RW,AND SONY TRV900 CAMERA. I WOULD LIKE TO GET A MOVIE-LENGTH VIDEO ON ONE CD.

If you want to put 37 minutes onto a CD, you're going to have to use higher compression, obviously with some trade off in quality. You can easily fit 37 minutes onto a CD if you use mpeg1 VCD standards (~minute per mb on a CD).

Go to http://www.geocities.com/divxlandhome/Bitcalc.htm
download the bit-rate calculator, follow the instruction and you should be burning your video to cd in no time
