get more performance out of processor
on Mar 7, 2005 at 5:55:22 pm

I'm editing with a Dell Precission Workstation dual processors using Premier 6.5 & Canopus DV Raptor card. When rendering timeline my processors are only rendering at 50% level. Is it possible to get more performance out of them to speed up the rendering times?

That's exactly what my premiere pro 1.5 does... I have a 3.2ghz P4 with HT and 1gb RAM and 250gb SATA drive and when rendering anything, it never goes past 55% even though nothing else is running. I even went to the processes and set it to "realtime" but it made no difference.

Thanks for your reply. This is most frustrating...considering that I set up someone else with a much lesser Dell system, but a faster single P4 2.4ghz processor(I think), but it renders at 100% proceesor usage.

I should add that my Workstation 620 is an older model with dual P3 800mhz Xeons, 1.2gb RDRAM, OS W2000, and 150gb scsi drive.

Hopefully there is a logical reason for this.
