Avid Essential or Complete w/ single processor?
on Jan 6, 2005 at 11:31:36 am

Can you guys tell me if Avid Xpress Pro Studio Essentials or Studio Complete can work really well on a new single-processor unit that includes a P4 3.4GHz processsor? Quadro 1300 card, 120Gig system drive, 80-gig 2nd drive, and two video-storage drives that are 200Gig apiece? Kinda like a Videoguys hot rod single-processor sytem...Or would the computer barely work with all the Avid stuff. Avid makes it sound like you have to have dual processors to run their big stuff...
Thanks,
Mike

Essentials runs great on a single processor. We just put together a screaming machine for our DIY2 article. We use a P5AD2 mobo, loaded with RAM and a ton of SATA RAID storage. The complete DIY2 article should be posted next week.
