i thought i was having a problem capturing the audio on a video tape. however, it turns out that the audio was being captured after all. the problem is in the playback through the monitor. when i play a clip back through the video camera, the audio is just fine. when i play it back from the timeline through the monitor window, there is no sound at all. do you have any suggestions? john stroh
I use an external monitor from my Blue Output Box (BOB). I run my ins and outs to the mixer, mixer to BOB. The BOB feeds my mixer as well (watch out for feedback). The mixer allows me to monitor proper levels as well as feed decks.
I bought a Nady mixer and a DataVideo DA and it sounds wonderful! Both for about 300 bucks.
Otherwise, you will need to run some speakers from a source deck or from the DV500 BOB to a sound card.
