live video with multiple cams

Hi all,

Having read captaincrunches post I'm not sure I'll get a reply but here goes.

I want to capture an event using multiple cams and get it onto a streaming server. I therefore need an editing suite which can handle multiple inputs and edit them before encoding and pushing up to the server. The cameras themselves haven't yet been purchased but I anticipate firewire input.

I'm using a Powerbook G4 and am basically after recommendations for the software I should be looking at to edit the live stream. Also, what piece of kit I need to multiplex the 3 or 4 camera inputs.

Many thanks.
SteveB.
