128MB or 64MB Video Card????
on Sep 23, 2002 at 3:38:16 am

Here are my applicatons: Analog Video capture (VHS and HI-8), Editing and DVD Authoring.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions.......
Can you please tell me if the ATI Radeon All in Wonder 8500 with 128MB is faster and smoother than the ATI All in Wonder Radeon 7500 with 64MB for my applications? In other words, is 128MB better than 64MB for NLE and DVD Authoring? Will I see a difference or the same? If there is a difference, please explain.

Thanks

Your not going to see much of a difference with a single 17 inch monitor. if you get a big 21" CRT, then the extra memeory will let you run at full color depth with a larger work area.

My best advice for NLE is to go with dual monitors. I use the Matrox G550, but ATI & NVidea make excellent dual head cards as well. teh extra screen space can add greatly to your workflow and productivity.
