Unexpected crashes in Premiere
on Feb 18, 2004 at 4:30:08 pm

I am trying to capture a VHS video to *.avi using composite inputs and a
Matrox Rx.10 capture card. Preset is Matrox DV/NTSC 720x480 Video for
Windows. I open the movie capture window and set the capture setting to
"Matrox AVI Capture." Capture Video, Capture Audio, and Report Dropped
Frames are all checked. Audio is capturing at 48000 Hz, 16 bit stereo,
uncompressed. When I click on the OK button from rthe Project Settings
dialog box, Premiere crashes. Info in the error window is as follows:

AppName: premiere.exe AppVer: 6.5.0.0 ModName: mfc42.dll
ModVer: 6.0.8665.o Offset 00003eb8

When I close the error message window, I get an application error dialog
that reads

The instruction at "0x1e0bfe6b" referenced memory at "0x01e4ad1c". The
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Anyone have any ideas as to how I might resolve this? I am running a
Pentium 2.6 GHz machine with 1GB of RAM and under Windows XP Pro with all
current updates and service packs. Full system virus scan shows nada.
