I am trying to capture footage (converted from analogue to digital via a Canopus ADVC-100), but when I attempt to capture anything, using either Premier6 or WinDV, I just get a black screen in the 'preview' window?
I know the Canopus works, as does the fire-wire cable/card etc
There must be something missing from my system or a setting which needs changing, does anyone have any suggestions?
I would guess that you need to dbl check the capture input. Your software may be looking at a DV input when the video is actually coming in on composite or s-video.
I am guessing here because I don't know your equipment exactly, but it sounds like what happened when I just moved/re-installed Premier 6.5 on a new system - NO VIDEO?!?!? worked fine on the system I just took the parts from... Oh ya, it "sees" the DV device but is set to s-video because no DV device was hooked up during install... So I changed it to the DV input, and Wah Lah! it works...
